Spotlight on Literacy, better than any other
The Macmillan "Spotlight on Literacy" is the best literature anthology that I have used in the classroom. There is an excellent variety of genre. The content of the stories, fiction and nonfiction, is enjoyable reading material. The accompanying "Reading Practice Book" is unmatched for teaching reading comprehension. There is also an excellent "Grammar Practice Book" available that focuses on many grammatical skills. I have not come across any other reading series that provides as much all around quality as the "Spotlight on Literacy"
