Correct RJ50 connector
This is the correct cable that allows this older APC unit to gracefully shut down the connected computer automatically and unattended during a power outage.
This is commonly discarded during installation due to a lack of knowledge as to it's function.
This specific cable is for APC units that look like they use a standard network cable connector known as an RJ45 connector. However, this RJ50 connector is actually 2 pins wider and a rare connector. An RJ45 connector as found on all network cables will NOT work! The APC website even incorrectly refers to this connector as an RJ45 in several places referencing older APC's!
