Yes... just yes. Awesome product (if it's really 3M)
4 of 4 found this helpful Providing this is a genuine 3M 6900, it is an excellent respirator. I am 5' 11," about 195lbs of pure fat and it fits me very well.
I purchased one about 5 years ago to spray foam part of my house during a reno. Not knowing how to spray foam, the walls got about an R18 and the mask about an R2. Being incredibly cheap, yet thinking I'd never use this again, I sealed up the organic vapor/P100 filters in plastic and put the mask away, never to be used again.
Hello Coronavirus. Turns out the P100 part of the filters will last months, and that's the part I need for Covid, and the organic vapor part is still working a treat as I can't smell anything while wearing it. I was also able to purchase a new set of filters at a pretty good price, just in case this stupid virus thing doesn't go away any time soon, which it probably won't.
Back to the mask, if you're buying it for Covid, yes, it's overkill. Yes, you will look stupid. Yes, you should absolutely use it. I asked 3 docs if it's worth looking stupid and all 3 said absolutely yes. I use it for Costco, Target, supermarket, etc. where there are a lot of people. It's more comfortable than a cloth mask and provides absolute protection for both your nose and eyes. It's easy to see out of, easy to breathe through, seals extraordinarily well and you don't feel like you have to adjust it every 30 seconds like a half face respirator and goggles. Unless you're stupid when you take it off, it will protect you. I get a few looks but, for the most part, either people don't care or they're thinking "where can I get one." I have no idea and I don't care as I prefer to look a bit stupid than projectile vomit for 3 weeks. For less trafficked areas I use a cloth mask.
If you're buying it for spray foam application, that also worked out great.

Just do it. This is the best form of 2FA we have.
There are now inexpensive "toolkits" that allow the bad guys to set up phishing attacks that get around all forms of 2FA... except hardware keys. To the best of my knowledge, there is no way around a hardware key unless the user [messes] up and bypasses it themselves. As an IT professional, I generally tell my clients that SMS 2FA gets you 90% of the way there; TOTP (Time-based One Time Passcodes) gets you 99% of the way there and hardware keys are as close to 100% as you can get. Email, at least, needs to be absolutely secured, as an email compromise will allow a SIM swap which gets around SMS authentication.
Get a couple of keys and try to keep them in different places. I recommend a minimum of 2; one stays with you on your keychain while the other can remain at home or in your office. I use 3: one that never leaves my office, one that never leaves my home, and one that I keep with me. That way there's zero chance of losing access to all 3.
