Ding Dong "Post has arrived"
I had been racking my brain for ages trying to resolve a problem. I have an enclosed porch and this means a new 'outside' letterbox rather than using the one on the inside (original) front door.
My problem was to know when letters had arrived and sitting on the floor in the enclosed porch rather than via the original letter which dropped them on the mat inside the house. I'd thought for a while to devise a method to let me know when the letter box flat had been lifted. Bingo, this device has solved my problem perfectly.
The transmitter is located to one side and the trigger magnet is on the flat (on the INSIDE, not outside the house). When lifted, the flat now triggers a 'ding dong' inside the house. I was worried that the distance from magnet to transmitter (see pic) might be to great, but it works as expected. It's amazing and perfect AND, so far, works every time the post arrives.
