good value but needs some upgrading of parts
The drill press is a much better design than the alternative versions and it is a little larger. The chuck is larger as well. The speed control functions well and assembly is easy. The important parts are precise but I have upgraded some of the screws for Allen bolts. The table was painted and I used a file to remove the paint and true up the surface. The bolt holes in the table match an available and cheap X-Y table that also needs after-market upgrades but is very affordable. The castings are in aluminum and the mechanical parts are effective and precise. The motor housing is plastic but the motor is similar to a sewing machine motor and I believe that a good model of the more powerful sewing machine motor would be interchangeable. For very precise work the smaller and older model has proved to be better. I have set this version up as a mini-mill with helical gearing for the down-feed

Goof quality and useful
Accurately built to American specifications. This switch is intended for installation where space is limited and where open connectors would create an electrical hazard The switch is rated for light duty use on lamps and small appliances.

Good material, plenty of choice for figure, The pieces are a little on the small side. The thickness is good.
