Well worth it if it comes with Ableton.
1 of 1 found this helpful It came bundled with Ableton Lite 10 which has the complex time warping, so it was worth it for that alone for me. Be aware that the Ableton version is stripped down and DOES NOT send midi out apart from midi clocks among several other limitations.
The keyboard itself is tailored towards Ableton but also works with other software such as Reaper and its controls easily mapped to on-screen midi devices.
The keys are not too small and are velocity sensitive. The compact size and light weight of the APC Key 25 also means I can easily move it out of the way when I'm not using it.
Build and feel are above what I was expecting for the money.

Idiot Proof!
Does exactly what it says it will... HOWEVER, had I noticed that there is also a variant on this type of thing that provides audio out in addition to the video conversion I would have bought that version instead as I also need the audio out. But this product is well made and worked immediately.

Great value once up and running. Fiddly to setup and dial in.
It's lightweight and produces fantastic results once setup.
But there's the rub. I couldn't get it to work initially despite following the instructions to the letter, in so far as they could be found online as it came with virtually no instructions. It was only after much messing around, and much mess making with the syringes (one needle was missing BTW) that I came across a video explaining that the coloured bungs in each cartridge MUST be removed to avoid vacuums in the cartridge and to allow the ink to get through! If this information was anywhere in the scant documentation that came with the machine I missed it. Once I'd removed the bungs the ink began to get through and eventually the heads where cleaned and aligned. After all that if I were buying again I'd go for a machine with bigger tanks which I'd seen, but were more expensive. Messing around with syringes full of ink is thankless! The sublimation paper it came with seems very good. Good heavy weight paper.
