Gripping topic, but written poorly and constructed in a confusing manor.
The content of this book is astounding. Virginia Tech was a turning point in the US mental health and gun debate. However this novel is unable to truly impart this. It’s constructed with eyewitness accounts from the campus and the shooting before hand in the dorms. However it is put together in such a way that it makes following the series of events tricky. You’re following a student hiding in an office then you’re a relative across town then you’re a passerby seeing police cars. These accounts are all vital and useful but they all seem to flow through their own funnel rather than being spun into one single strand to explain the events. While the actual content is incredible, the construction makes this book hard to follow and at times can even lead to miss-explaining the events that occurred that April 16th morning.

Great book, fantastic author
One of the greatest literary pieces ever.
I know this, because Tyler knows this.
