This bulb isn't a direct interchange with P60
This bulb has a slightly larger diameter and slightly longer body than an original Surefire P60. As a result, it will not fit in some lamps designed for a P60. It will not fit the Surefire M951 or M952 at all, as it will not seat correctly in the socket. This isn't an issue that can be solved by trimming the spring, it is a diameter issue. I did however get it to fit in my ancient Insight VLI-002 and it works fine in there. It emits a very noticeable red glow, similar to a red filter in a conventional incandescent flashlight but slightly dimmer. I'm not sure how well that will work when stalking varmints and hogs at night, but we will find out.
Now... about performance with night vision equipment. In this area, this bulb excels. The reflector is properly shaped and textured for a flood light pattern, which is ideal for hunting at night. It brightens up the field of view tremendously, and it really helps with trees and bushes without causing a "white out" in my old Gen 1 NVRS scope. Overall the function is great, you just have to be careful about what you're putting it in because it won't fit every application that requires a P60.

Great strap, garbage clasp.
1 of 1 found this helpful The strap is of excellent quality and craftsmanship. The deployment clasp is straight up garbage. It absolutely will not stay shut. It pops open several times a day. I can't wear this anymore because I'm afraid it will pop open and my (expensive) watch will fall off without me noticing.
