Solid product. Easily modified

Good solid saddle and bridge. No issues. I modified the saddle to fit the ukulele I was building, thinning it.

I didn't use it as a target, but as a mounting plate for a Meade LX200 telescope wedge

If I'd known what AR500 was, I wouldn't have ordered this. I didn't realize that AR means Abrasion Resistant. 500 is the Brinnel hardness. OK then, so this is really hard steel. And I had to drill into it to make mounting holes for the telescope, and for the pier I was mounting it on. What to do, what to do. I knew that if I annealed the metal it would get softer. But I don't have a forge, furnace or oxy-acetylene torch. I have a map-gas torch. I also have a barbecue, so I put it in there, and got it up to 750F on the grill. Then, using the my map-gas torch heated it up to 1000F. Then I left it on the barbecue, turned off the gas, and let it cool down over an hour or more. That did it. I could drill into the steel now. It works perfectly for what I needed. It's very close, dimensionally to an 8 inch circle. Flat, smooth, no burrs. If I'd realized what it was, I'd have bought mild steel. But this worked out just fine.

Solid dovetail clamp, another good SVBony product

This is a solid dovetail clamp. I had to do some machining and drilling to make it fit my application, but it's regular aluminum, so easy to mill and drill. SVBony is a solid company making lots of great products.
