Palstar R30CC Shortwave Receiver
The Palstar R30CC Shortwave Receiver is a general coverage receiver that covers continuous band (150khz-30Mhz) of AM and shortwave. Sound quality with built in standard speaker is good, though an external speaker makes this sound like a high fidelity stereo receiver. Operates on ten (10) AA batteries or with 12V AC adapter. Reception is strong with an antennae rod or wire antennae externally. It has 100 frequency memories, S-Meter for reception strength, and the LCD readout display is back lit with an amber light (mine is the older model; newer models have dot matrix LCD display and green backlight). Attenuator and automatic control gain helps with overpowering stations. This model has the famed Collins filters for wide/narrow bandwidth for SSB and CW reception for amateur band radio. Great as a bedside radio for shortwave stations; size is compact. Major drawback to this radio is no 0-9 keypad and the memory settings are somewhat difficult to maneuver without the instruction manual as there are no preset buttons similar to the Sony. Still, this radio is better than the Yaesu FRG-100 and easier to operate. An excellent value for the price I paid; however, buying one at full retail would render for a four star rating as I rate.

A time capsule from the 1970's!
Very good 1970's set on 25 compact disks with twelve songs per disk. Set contains more one hit wonders and novelty songs than number ones or even "top 40"; although it has some of the better known top 40 singles from the era. General time frame covers October 1969 to November 1979. If you're looking for a cultural spectrum of pop, rock, light rock, and soul, this set has it..it like reminiscing with the car AM Radio! Worth about what I paid (about $250 used). This set can run upwards of $500, even $650 if all disks are new, because a few disks are out of print (Disk 11, 16, and 19 can be pricey if bought separately) since the set was first introduced in 1990 and additional disks released in 1993 and last three finally in 1996.

Samsonite Omni Suitcase
2 of 2 found this helpful For the $269 for the set, these represent an excellent value and cannot be beat for the price. Quality is as one would expect from Samsonite and is a lightweight but appears durable with the hardshell carbonite surface. These retail between 500 and 650 dollars at retail.
