Soul SL 300 - Very comfortable stylish over the ear headphones.
1 of 1 found this helpful I had been looking for a backup pair of headphones to fill in for my my Sony MDR-V6's. I love the Sony's, however i wanted to test the waters on some noise cancelling headphones. I found a pair of the SOUL's SL300 on Ebay for$60 (with shipping) and took a shot.
My first observation was that they cans looked a bit futuristic. They are made up of curves and rounded glossy plastic. Though they appear fragile they have shown to be very durable. They are also the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn. The fit over the ear is excellent and I did not experience any pressure points from the ear cups or the top of the headband.
The ear cups swivel within the frame of the headphones. This style it is completely different from any other headphones I have seen. The noise cancellation feature is also a nice feature and does provide some sound isolation. When the noise isolation feature is enabled you also get a large audio level jump like a preamp experience. This feature does require power from two AAA batteries. The good news is you can still use the phones without this noise cancellation feature turned on. The volume is lower, however unlike the Beats by Dre the headphones will work if the batteries go dead and the noise isolation is turned off. I am very happy with the headphones, they come with a nice case and two sets of cables. One set has the stop -start-volume feature that ipod players come with. So I suggest if you do not want to spend greater that $150 on Sennheisers or a pair of Bose try these as an option.

If you just want a player just for music this is a good choice.
This actually my second 30 GB Zune. I still have my first one as I use it at work for when i work out during lunch. I prefer the Micrsoft Zune's software for organizing my music. I have owned my first Zune for over 6 years and have never had a problem. It may not have HD video and all the cool applications like a Apple touch. But it does do the one thing I want it to. it plays music, the hardware is reliable and you can drop the player and it will keep working. There are great alternatives with Creative and Apple. I have found my Zune to be more reliable software wise when compared to my creative mp3 player. And the Zune holds more than the flash creative drives I looked at. It might be an old design and it definitely is not a device with a lot of apps; however, it is sturdy and I will not have to re-organize my windows playlist structures with its included software.

A small piece of history wrapped up in a coin.
The reason I was interested in that particular coin was that it is one of the lower mintage years. I started collecting Morgan Dollars four years ago and have always enjoyed them due to their striking good looks and patriotic appeal. The Morgans are very attractive coins, they date to a time of the US that was just emerging as a strong independent nation. I actually find the coins to be worth well more than just their intrinsic silver value. Each coin represents a small microcosm of the state of affairs in the united States for the given minted year. Each mintage is a piece of history from one year of a growing super power that has yet to make its place in the world stage. Similar to an ice core from the Antarctic each coin is a sliver of time from the past. So, when I pass this coin on to my children I am also passing a piece of history from a time gone by. Also since the coin represents a year of less than two million mintings it is also more rare than some of the other mintage dates.
