0 of 1 found this helpful I chose the Oreck XL BB900DGR canister because my Mom has had an older version of it for more than 25 years. It started out as a backup to the regular upright. She went through many of the uprights Hoover, kirby, kenmore, etc along with bigger canisters on wheels. As each broke down, we would pull out the little reliable canister that you would carry over your shoulder. This eventually became the main vacuum. Mom has a big house and although you do need to empty the bag, this is the most convenient back ever. You can go from carpet to hqrd wood, tiles and reach behind & between cabinets, furniture etc. I have a small condo and have tried buying cheaper vacuum cleaners - they were a waste of money. The Oreck is more expensive initially, but its long term reliabilty will make it a much better value. This style canister is being phased out by Oreck. The reviews on the replacement were not as good. My only disappointment is Oreck discontinued the reusable cloth bags. I've been searching and can't find one.
