Apple iPad 2 White OEM Charge & Sync Dock MC940ZM/A
Mar 14, 2018
Apple iPad 2 Charge and Sync Dock MC940ZM/A is an excellent performer
The Apple iPad MC940ZM/A Charge and Sync Dock is an excellent product. It requires the older wide Apple connector from a power source (wall wart or computer) and a 3.5mm to act as a charging source for the iPad. Note that this dock only works with the older vintage iPads that also utilize the wide connector. If your intent was to wire this to a sound system, then you must also supply a 3.5mm (1/8") stereo plug (same size and function as earphones) which will also plug into the dock. Whichever cable is chosen will depend on what device you intend to send the sound to. By example, if you are planning on hooking up your iPad with this dock to a home stereo system, then in most cases you would get a cable with a 3.5mm stereo plug on one end and a left and right RCA plug on the other. The one benefit of utilizing this dock over simply using such a cable and running sound out of the headphone jack on the iPad, is that the sound is sent at full line-level and is not dependent upon the volume level set on the iPad itself. As such, the dock allows the iPad to work just as any other stereo component in your sound system. The potential for sound quality is also excellent. I acquired this to be able to send SiriusXM and other radio apps over my iPad and after actual use in this capacity, it proved itself to be one of the best choices I could have made for this purpose.
