If it's a "must to have", it does the job
The purpose of this object is to safeguard your camera from the high voltage that old hot shoes, like the Vivitar 2500, could deliver in excess of 6 volt. So far so good as my SX60hs has been taking the pounding very well; as yet to blink!

Simply the best
I have been buying Eneloop rechargeable batteries for years because they last and can take hundreds of recharges.
