Pacific Rim 3D Blu-ray Disc w Lenticular Slipcover
    May 25, 2020
Plot is predictable, but 3D and action good
The movie in 2D was an okay action movie with some character development. I bought it for the 3D outdoor summer cinema for my young boys and they enjoyed it immensely. If you expect a style like Coming at ya or Jaws 3D this is not it. This is a very well made 3D movie that is crisp with Robots fighting alien sea monsters. Something young boys will and those that like Godzilla, King Kong and similar style of movies will enjoy. Again, don’t expect much and you will probably enjoy it. My boys now want to see the second installment, but the reviews indicate that it is less kaiju compared to this one.
Clash of the Titans (Blu-ray Disc, 2010, 2-Disc Set, 3D)

The movie was okay, but issue with 3d
We watched the Clash of the Titans. I enjoyed the previous version as a child so I thought why not watch the newer one with my kids in 3D. The special effects were the standard fare and the 3D was mostly for depth, but when the scene involved their faces there was something off with their hair. It was almost as if they were a cartoon trying to come off the page but couldn’t. I wouldn’t call it ghosting, but slightly off. I had thought that there was an issue with my glasses so I used another pair but the hair issue remained. After the movie ended I tried another 3D movie fearing that my DLP projector was having issues, but Avatar, Pacific Rim and Monsters versus Aliens worked and the 3D effects didn’t have that issue with hair and looked good overall. So it is either the Disc or the 3D effects were off when making the movie or the disc. The movie was the run of the mill action adventure that young boys love, but the 3D experience was a little off. Hopefully your experience will be different.
