Much needed info
I don't know much about small engines, so I bought this manual. It has EVERY spec you need to stay or go stock. If you decide to upgrade, or go performance, add the information to the manual for future reference.

Overvoltage
The motors can handle 3 18650 batteries in series, but the plastic gears inside the gun cannot! I've ran about 3-4 clips through my first Khaos with that voltage(approx 14V), and now the gears have melted. I've been looking for an upgraded to aluminum gears, or a mod, but can't seem to find one. Since the blaster is now retired, I doubt anyone will make one either. Otherwise, the blaster is GREAT! Unlike it's newer cousins, the Nemesis and Prometheus, it can be fired at any position. The Nemesis and Prometheus have to be shot in traditional fashion. They can't be fired upside down, due to the gravity fed hopper. The Khaos relies on a spring fed 40rd clip, which I personally love.

Stock replacement?
OK! I installed the CDI, and went for a ride. I have a 2017 TaoTao ATM50A1 50cc. Except for this, and a "SUPPOSED RACING COIL", it is stock. I experienced a very slight improvement. I have not taken the bike out on the bigger roads for top speed changes yet. I don't see where I am going to get much of a difference, especially without a performance exhaust!
BUT, LIKE I MENTIONED, I DID NOTICE AN IMPROVEMENT! The first thing I noticed was the idling. I am idling high on purpose. The new CDI adjusted something, and it idles lower, and smoother. The other thing I noticed was a very slight improvement on acceleration. If I hadn't done a "before and after", I would not have noticed it though. I recommend buying, but it should not be the only part you install.
Buy it, put it away, until you get the other parts to go with it. Install them all at once. DON'T BE LIKE ME!!!
