The Hornby O Gauge No.2 Large Turntable
The Hornby O Gauge No.2 Large Turntable is a typical Hornby product made from pressed steel and nicely painted with a durable paint. This product would have been made in the 1950s and it has stood the test of time well. Although it says it is a large turntable, the table is 12 inches (300mm) long so only the 0-4-0 locomotives will turn on it. It is not long enough for the 4-4-0 tender locos.

Dapol Axles Reduce Friction
I have used Dapol spoked and disk wagon wheels to replace Hornby and Bachmann wagon wheels in older wagons. Dapol axles have a finer point than other manufacturers, but the axle is exactly the same length. This reduces friction in the bearing and leads to smoother running with lower friction, so you can pull longer trains.
