Sony E mount adapters for "A" Lens are different
The LA-EA3 is not an auto focus unit. The contacts sets the aperture (f stop) of the "A" mount lens only and match it to the shooting formula you have selected on the newer Sony "E" mount body. Works with the A7 / A9 series body and alpha 6000/ NEX bodies. It will set the len's electronic aperture (f stop) for most "A" mount Sony or Minolta MAXXUM with the mechanical screw driven focus lens that are rated as auto focus However, the focus on these prior lens were done with a motor in the body, so you will be doing manual focusing for your "E" mount cameras. You can pick up "A" lens at a fraction of the cost of a newer "E" lens and still get great results. Sony makes other adapters so do your research.
