An art film with heavy themes of existentialism.
It's a beautiful film about tourists, travelers, and wanderers after WWII. Although there is a scene near the end that is a bit hard to watch. Otherwise the film does move very slowly and as the audience you get really involved with the characters. They all have a kind of wanderlust and boredom with the world. Sometimes looking for a purpose and sometimes realizing their existence for each other was their purpose. The movie as a whole left me with a sense that i had been on the journey with them even as the husband becomes fatally ill.
If you enjoy art films masterfully done then you will like this movie, it's a love story about finding each other, though it has sad and tragic consequences. While it does end up ironically being about loss, i found the film still has much beauty in it. However probably not for the faint of heart.

The Force Is Stronger With This One.
This is a really great film and continuation of the story that they started in The Force Awakens. I've seen the film 5 times since and to me it seems like a George Lucas production instead of Disney. Personally i don't care that a lot of fans hated the movie. Mostly because the way i see it, it is a good second act from one long movie. The audience wasn't meant to see it as a 'whole' yet because Disney has not revealed where they are going with the story. Fortunately the third act, Episode 9 is in production and where they go with it will give us fans more clues as to where Disney might take the franchise. For me, The Last Jedi is as good as the classic trilogy. The Force Awakens was too much of a retread for me but the characters were okay. Overall though, The Last Jedi by itself is great in terms of continuity. After Episode 9 hopefully all the plot threads and the story can be seen as one whole movie instead of independent Episodes. That's the funny thing about reviewing The Last Jedi though, since it is the middle part of a three act story, it's hard for me not to refer to the other two. However if you're seeking the power of The Force then The Last Jedi, i believe, is a heck of a lot better than others give it credit for. Bottom line, great film!
