It's almost five stars! (There were two episodes, that did not belong in the show.)
1 of 1 found this helpful My Favorite Martian was a funny family show, that was on in the 1960s. I liked most of the first season episodes, except for a couple. There were two episodes that made light of exploiting women. (There was one episode, that made fun of a stripper, called Peaches. Then, I skipped over an episode in which Tim O'Hara was suppose to do a story on a bikini contest.) The other episodes in the first season, however, were wholesome fun! Most of this T.V. series showed caring for others, and I think that Bill Bixby,as Tim, and Ray Walston, as Uncle Martin, the Martian, were a warm, cute combination. The show, also, had some early, wonderful special effects! So, overall, I give this show a 4 1/2 rating. This light, Science Fiction comedy series will make you smile!

Woman in the Moon is an outstanding silent Science Fiction movie!
1 of 1 found this helpful My 37 year old son, and I really enjoyed seeing this classic science fiction movie. I recommend this to anyone, who would like to see one of the earliest science fiction movies about travel to the moon. The production of this German made movie was started in 1928, and finished in 1929.
Fritz Lang, the writer/producer was a genius, and the special effects were remarkable for the time period. He did research about the moon, and applied the small amount of scientific studies about possible space travel that was known in the 1920s. This, plus Lang's wonderful imagination produced an early science fiction gem! Viewers of Woman in the Moon need to read the English subtitles quickly, however. (My son had to replay some parts of the film for us, because we were either talking and not paying attention, or we were not reading the subtitles fast enough. Yes, you need to be attentive to the movie, because it is a silent one!)
The only negative we found, was that the classical background music was a bit redundant, and gloomy at times. However, you can just turn the volume down to focus on the story more. Overall, this is an outstanding movie, and ahead of its time! Woman in the Moon was an award winner!

My son and I love the first season of Lost in Space, and we got a great deal on these DVDs!
2 of 2 found this helpful The Sci Fi T.V. show, Lost in Space, was on T.V., when I was preteen. I loved this movie then, and I love it now! My son, who is in his late thirties, enjoys relieving this fun part of my childhood! This is an entertaining, wholesome television series, that is suitable for all ages, but was probably made for 6-13 year olds. This show was made towards the end of a very family-oriented, moral era, so there is not any obscene language.
In some episodes, the Robinson family are seen praying and thanking the Lord for what he has given to them, or for the harm that he has saved them from. This is not a show that shared the gospel, but it is one in which people showed reverence for our Creator, and they did not take His name in vain, like so many terrible current T.V. shows and movies do now!
Most of the episodes are really cute and these have many great special effects, that were new in the 1960s! This is really a fun show and I highly recommend it. "Lost in Space" was was made in the past, and forecast a sweet, wholesome future in Outer Space, that I wish that we had now!
