As the description indicates, the problem with these old stators isn't the stator itself but the wires leading to and from the unit that typically rot completely out. This service installs new wires and reseals the unit as well or better than factory original. Works great for at least a third less than the Mercury part and is much better quality than the aftermarket exposed winding stators offered.
