Small sample box Pa. Anthracite Nut Coal

Was curious about coal... so I ordered some

Although I have some " textbook" knowledge about the coal industry , and the important role coal played in the building of this great nation, I must confess I have never seen real coal. ( Living in California may have something to do with that actually.. ) I ordered this sample just to satisfy my curiosity about this natural resource and it is in fact quite interesting. My Impressions? Its heavier that I thought it would be for one. Harder to ignite too, I was not expecting this. I got some of it burning outside in my bbq with the help of a torch. Once a few pieces at the bottom of a pile are burning the fire lasts a long time & puts out a nice about of warmth. The most surprising part was how clean it appears to burn. I think I expected my experimental coal fire to belch out thick black smoke, it in fact did not. I'm not saying its super clean either, but what fire is really? When stoked with air the fire becomes intensely hot ( more than wood ) & did throw a few solid cinders out. Neat!

This bulb is a big improvement over the stock one.

I have put one of these bulbs in both maglights that I own. What a huge improvement over the original! MUCH brighter. You will notice that the "twist to focus" no longer works as before, but I don't miss it at all with the improved brightness! these bulbs are rated at 200 lumens. I have seen others that are rated even higher for a lot more money, however I feel made the right choice with these. the $ value /vs/ performance is perfect.

These were and exact fit for my 3 year old BHG brand grill. The old plates had rusted and crumbled, this really reduces the efficiency of the grill. Do your research first to see what model grill you have, and measure the length that you need. I think I can get a few more years out of the grill with these!
