Just pure entertainment
Great actors, entertaining story, and wow-factor ending. What's not to love? Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor make a great team, and Jill Clayburgh is, of course, wonderful. This movie is right up there with "Foul Play" and "Murder By Death", two other great mystery/comedies from the 70's.
I saw this movie in the theater when it came out and I loved it, but I was 10 years old at the time, so I wondered if watching it again all these years later I would enjoy it. Well, it didn't disappoint. Just as good this time. The mid 1970's produced some purely enjoyable movies that combined drama with comedy perfectly, and "Silver Streak" is one of them.
