Nice Variety & Graphics!
I am a fan of Arkanoid on the NES (Nintendo System) and I love playing 'ping pong' type of a game where you move the paddle to catch the ball and bounce it back up and forth, hitting blocks or bricks along the way. I recently bought Break 'Em for the DS and found it okay. I beat the game. It had no variety but it was a bit challenging. I figured since I won the game, why keep playing it and looked for another one. So then I saw Nervous Brickdown for the DS and it sounded interesting. I was surprised at the variety of ways to play 'ping pong' in different forms. It kept me going. Each 'world' has 9 games that increases it's difficulty a bit each time then ends with a boss at the end. The worlds were different from the others. It is exactly as they describe it. Drawing the paddle with the curser was cute. Blowing the ball up is unique that I've never done before. It is not too easy or too hard on most worlds. One world is very difficult - the Retro World, I think it's called, where you have to watch 2 or 3 things at the same time. I'm telling myself, man, who can do that? It's like that trick most people can't do, patting your head and make a circular motion with your hand on your stomach at the same time! So I'm having fun trying to beat Retro World! (Update! - I finally beat Retro World! That was fun!) Definitely a keeper! Keeps you amused and addicting!

A different way of doing Break-Out type of a puzzle!
As a adult gamer trying out games, I thought I'd try this one out. The game is cute. Turns out it's like Break Out puzzle game somewhat where you have to hit the ball to eliminate certain colored circles (instead of blocks). You have to make sure that the ball is in certain color by hitting a special block that turns it to, lets say, red, then you hit red circles only and eliminate them, then move on to another color and do the same. It's a cute small change of pace from Break Out. It's very similiar to Break out or any of those ball hitting blocks puzzle games. If you like those types, it's good. I haven't gone that far yet. I will update this review as I get further to see if anything happens such as unlocking games or gets more difficult... UPDATE: This game is fun!! Here is a better explaination now that I've played more...It is just like Break-Out. Except you control the ball in a different way than Break-Out. With Break-Out, the ball bounces off your paddle, whereas with M&M Break Em, the ball moves up, down or left & right with your + pad on the DS. There is absolutely no stylus usage in this game which is fine. The stylus wouldn't work good for this type of game anyway. Yes you do have to unlock some games after you've reached certain levels. I've finished the first level and am moving on to the next. This is an unique break-out type of a game that I've never played before. It's a bit difficult but with practice, I passed the levels. I think some stages get bit harder than the last. It took me 2 days to beat one level! Man is it hard! Then there seems to be a boss at the end of the level which is a bit challenging. Also I think this game is too hard for kids under 8? I'm an adult and having a hard time finishing some levels. I'm now 71% complete! I am not sure about the replay value which is why I gave this rating a 4 rather than 5. Once I beat the game, I doubt I would want to go through it again.

Game is too primitive by today's standards...
I decided to buy it because I read it was a classic game. I come from the original Nintendo system generation and decided to buy some old classic games for the GBA system. I've never tried it on the Nintendo system. The Ice Climber's eskimo is hard to control. The moves are slower than your controls. Making him jump, run and hit is just so delayed after you do the remote. It was fruatrating. This game is just too primitive by today's standards. The graphics is simple, colorful but limited. You just try to climb up to the top without dying and beat the clock. That's it. Sounds simple enough. But I had a hard time just because the eskimo was hard to control. I've played classic games on my Nintendo system such as the Bubble Bobble then played it on my GBA and it was great. Perhaps if I had tried it on my Nintendo system first and then GBA, my opinion might change. But for people who have never tried this game on the original Nintendo system, this game won't be liked.
