For more than twenty years, I have been sharing my primitives, gradually developing my own unique approach to primitive art. My business name is after my grandmother Deedee, my Chickadee.
Over time, my style has evolved into something entirely its own. I start by serendipitously cutting shapes from paper to create a pattern, and from there, a new spirit emerges.
I work quietly at home, surrounded by my beloved pets, soothed by the sounds of nature and the comforting crackle of the woodstove.
Each figure I make is imbued with its own spirit, coming to life in its own way. I think of them as "spirit dolls," crafted intentionally, one at a time, with healing and loving energy.
Creating is a meditative and heartfelt practice for me, and I hope those who welcome my pieces into their homes feel the loving intention I pour into each piece.
