Onerpriced coupler

I often replace broken fence posts, and have to break out 2 sides of the old concrete which can be 16-24" deep. All I need is an adapter fpr SDS-Max to SDS-Max say 12" long to get deep enough with a 12-18" chisel bit.. Instead I had to buy both a 12" extension AND this coupler which runs $150-$250. I've had it a couple weeks and haven't broken or jammed it yet, but my hopes aren't high.

One solution

This extension solution works, but it would be much more practical to simple make adaptors at appropriate lengths with male/female ends and eliminate an unnecessary joint of a very expensive coupler. I think these engineers come from the big pharmas.
