Dell UltraSharp 40 inch Curved WUHD Monitor- U4021QW

Love it with shortcomings

The quality of the monitor and the picture is great. I wanted a wide screen monitor but with higher resolution than the typical ones. This is perfect in that respect. This monitor also has a built in hub including a network port which is convenient as well. Where I think Dell fell short on this one is the HDMI ports only support 2.0 which doesn’t allow you to use those ports to get the full resolution. This leaves them only to be used in a side by side display capacity. I only use the display port so this wasn’t an issue, but it just seems strange that they built a monitor where the HMDI ports effectively aren’t supported. Overall I can’t complain. This is my dream monitor in size and resolution. I saw in the reviews there’s an LG competitor for this, but I’ve been a Dell shop for a long time so I’ll always favor them if I can.

Gets the job done.

This thing is a beast. It definitely gets the job done. I just have to get use to only having USB-C ports, but it's not that bad. While some people say the 4K resolution is unnecessary I enjoy being able to scale the screen to my liking for software development which is smaller than most. As far as video editing this thing chopped through a render in 10 minutes that would take a couple hours on my much older PC. It's somewhat heavy, but I expected that to be the case for a true desktop replacement. As far as battery life, I like to sit down in my kitchen and I've noticed I'll get about 3 or 4 hours, but I didn't buy with the intent of being on battery for extended lengths of time. I assume if I dropped down into battery saver mode I could get a couple more hours. Overall I like the keyboard and expanded touch pad and touch screen. Performance is outstanding.
