It works and will solve your problem!
It will solve your problems for multiple monitor use. I have tried those dongles in best buy and the problem is, you still need a power source. To invest into a usb c charger as well can add up. Going this direction was the best option for this dock and it works. Besides the fact I purchased it used. It usually sits on your office table anyway. So for something to go wrong is probably rare or none.
