Classic De Sica

Very poor film quality for a movie made in the 1960s. But the story line was excellent. This depicts life in Italy during WW II for a mother, Sophia Loren, trying to raise her 13-year-old daughter in Rome and the countryside. It shows the strength and resilience of the Italian people during a time of crisis. The only drawback was that Sophia was so beautiful and charismatic (she was 26 when the movie was made and much too young to have a 13-year-old child) that it was distracting..
