Ships look good, but who's flying?
The good: Ship modeling is excellent. The story is entertaining albeit short, and none of the missions are annoyingly difficult. The voice cast is a fun touch, though Shatner frequently sounds like he’s reading aloud for the first time. If you’re looking for a basic Star Trek console game with plenty of retro flair, look no further.
The bad: The command interface is terrible. If you’re looking for strategy like Starfleet Command, you won’t find it here. Computer AI is fairly pathetic (I’d warp a ship away to repair it while my enemies would pursue the ship on impulse) and commanding your fleet can be downright frustrating. What little documentation there is has plenty of errors, and you’ll spend plenty of time trying to figure out which direction to point your ship to fire torpedoes.

For the price paid, it's a solid set. The board is awesome and the case is nice. The pieces are of questionable quality and the bishops are goofy.
In less than a week, two pieces broke.
Again, the table, case, and pieces are quite nice.
However, the bishops look like unicorns and the general quality of the remaining pieces is suspect - both a rook and a knight were broken easily within a week of "regular" play.
