Twice the price but five times the life of ordinary PP3

Buy the best
I have been using external drives for many yeras now. WD have never failed on me (touch wood!). Two Seagate drives have failed and a couple of Toshibas. Out of curiosity I have pulled them apart, and seen how the arm has stuck somewhere in the middle of the platter, wearing a sort of groove. I don't know what causes this, but I don't need it! I have also tried Chinese no-make drives for less important things. Total waste of money. They don't fail, they just don't work properly in the first place.
To be fair, another make that has served me well is Verbatim, which badge superior drives from Samsung etc. So now I stick to WD and Verbatim.

great value little thermometer.
Brilliant value. Does the job well.
