Great book.
A good view of what like was like after WW2 and with a young Japanese man who refused to go into the military.

Foot Soldier
This is an excellent book that gives a first hand experience of a combat soldier in WWII in Europe. It does not "honey coat" the experiences and is not always politically correct. It gives the reader a great appreciation of what our soldiers went through and what a young soldier can accomplish. The writer is very descriptive and you feel his pains, fear, anger, and frustrations. I do wish that he had included a chapter at the end which was a reflection on how his combat experiences influenced his life after he returned home. He "hints" about his experiences and his inability to forget.
All in all a great book and tribute to the American Soldier.
