With this 9th sequel in the Friday the 13th franchise, it is obviously not a good film at all, but I knew that before I went into the transaction. The only reason why I purchased it is because this is still part of the Friday the 13th series. The same thing could really be said about the Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street franchises as well. Both of them have a few bad installments, but that still does not stop the fans and others from buying the movies. A lot of people do this regardless because they are part of a collection and so forth, etc. As with Jason X, there actually was potential for it to be a great horror movie because it had an intriquing concept, but once again the filmmakers royally screwed up yet another time, no surprise there, and this ended up being one of the worst Friday the 13th flicks in the series. Parts V, VII, and Jason Goes To Hell are all slightly worse than this one, but none of these movies are actually supposed to be taken seriously. These types of flicks are guilty-pleasures and their entertainment value is decent. There are far worse movies out there. That is for sure.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest is worth buying on any video format.
I bought this product because One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest is one of my favorite movies of all-time. I also purchased this particular type of the item since the Thorn EMI tape is so rare. It probably came out in 1983 or 1984, but the box and VHS look brand new and there is virtually no damage to the product overall. With the film, I definitely recommend this masterpiece to not only fans of dramas, but to movie lovers in general. This is absolutely one of the greatest films ever made. Jack Nicholson gave one of his most beloved performances. The rest of the actors were also tremendous. This movie also deserved to sweep all of the major Oscar categories back in 1975. In reflecting upon that year, that certainly was quite a year for cinema. In that year alone, such amazing classics such as Jaws, Dog Day Afternoon, Barry Lyndon, and this film, were released and competed against each other at the Academy Awards ceremony back in 75. Of all of the recognition, it sucks that some terrific actors who gave performances that year still were overlooked and not nominated period. It would have been extremely interesting if Best Supporting Actor nominations were given out to Robert Shaw for Jaws and Will Sampson who played Chief in Cuckoo's Nest. It is also a shame that Brad Dourif did not win, but at least he received an Academy Award nomination too. Another great thing about this inspiring masterpiece was its moving score. All of these contributing factors amounted to an unforgettable film experience. In closing, just like my title reads, I definitely think that One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest is worthy to purchase in any format, whether it be VHS, DVD, or more recently, crystal-clear Blu-Ray.

Full 5 Star-item! Love it 😎! 1 of the best horror-scores of the past 20 years; same with the flick itself. Still holds-up incredibly-well 19 years later 😉.
