Anker 2.4G Wireless Vertical Ergonomic Optical Mouse, USB, 5 Buttons- Black
    Sep 28, 2017
It's OK but not for osteo-arthritis
This mouse is well built. I know because I keep knocking it off the table when moving my hand to the mouse - forgetting that it now has a high profile. It's bounced and come up smiling. Radio works a treat - very responsive. I bought it because I have osteoarthritis and I hoped the natural angle would help. The angle is good, but the angle also means pressing my forefinger on the click pad also requires reciprocal pressure from the thumb to hold the mouse, causing pain in the joint. This is because the click action is not against a table, it is now a kind of pinch movement. The mouse is too deep for my hand. I want to get it nested nicely in my thumb - forefinger gap but I don't feel the buttons are comfortably in reach. Anker make good mice. This is probably ideal for some people, but I can't recommend it if you have base thumb osteoarthritis and a small hand. But you cannot argue with the price. Excellent value for money and you do get a decent bit of kit for it.

    Nice solid camera
I chose this model over the regular Fujis as a 2nd-hand purchase because these have a lithium battery, wider ISO range and shutter speeds. I had seen results from the range on a recent photography course and had been impressed. I use it as a pocket camera to have at all times - normally I'm a Canon EOS SLR user. Physically it is sturdy, well built. Very easy in the hands, and easy to hold in a stable position. I recommend a carry case to protect the LCD. Battery life is good - way better than using AA batteries but reduced on use of zoom, flash and screen use for reviewing. I have two batteries and at approx £5 to buy it makes life easy. There is very little delay from pressing the shutter button to the camera taking the picture - making getting the shot easier. Some of these compacts have long delays. The menu system is a little cranky and takes getting used to. Some people find the small wheel selector fiddly, but I find it easy. You can have two personalised user settings or retain the landscape and portrait ones already provided. You can turn on / off the face recognition feature but I have not found that makes a lot of difference so far. The manual setting opens up the camera for a lot of features but beware you can't use aperture priority (but you can probably mimic it by careful ISO and shutter settings). The picture quality (8.3 Mps)really is excellent right through the optical zoom, but if you look closely shaded areas on bright pictures can look a tad blocky as the camera tries to compensate. Macro is excellent. I am very pleased with the picture quality overall, given this is not an SLR. The big LCD panel is a bonus and it is generally bright enough for outdoor use. Menus are clear - large fonts and bright colours help. What sells this to me are the extra settings, battery life, big bright LCD panel and the strong build quality. I found it a decent second-hand buy if you are on a budget or need a second camera.
