Best Heavy Duty Cold Steel Folder Ever!
1 of 1 found this helpful This Taiwan 4 Max Scout has all the capabilities of the original 4 Max, however it is much more affordable than the USA or Italian versions.
There are no quality control issues with this knife and the AUS-10A steel holds an edge very well, without chipping or rolling.
I like this knife so much that I bought two of them, one to use and one for my collection. I don't see any wear on the one I use as the stone wash finish on the blade and clip hide normal wear and tear marks.
The Grivory scales are solid, grippy and don't feel cheap at all.
I stopped carrying my Medford TFF-1, as the 4 Max Scout outperforms it in everyway.

Buy the discontinued Ontario Blackbird 154CM SK4 before its gone.
I collect and use all types of knives. The Blackbird SK4 is a very capable and compact knife, it is my favorite fixed blade for everyday use. This is a survival knife that can be used for bushcrafting.
The steel is 154CM, 90 degree spine with a spearpoint tip and a full flat grind.
Rockwell hardness is rated 60 to 62, with a hard use blade bevel.
The sheath is very good quality, however you will need to put a drop of oil on the retaining snap and work it back and forth a few times. This will allow you to unsnap the strap and it will get easier to snap on and off.
I like to put a paracord lanyard on the handle and place the cord between the retaining snap back and the handle, this prevents the snap from marring the G10 handle.
Many people will reprofile the blade bevel for a thinner edge, however I prefer the tougher thicker edge.
I believe the Blackbird 154CM knives were discontinued because the manufacturing cost was too high.
Get one while they are still available, its a good investment. Thanks! RSB,

Tops Cochise is Exceptional!!
The Tops Cochise knife is small enough to carry all day long, however the robust tip and blade shape allows this knife to perform many outdoor tasks easily.
I really like the way the contoured micarta handle conforms to my hand, allowing a good grip without hot spots during hard use.
This knife has a subdued look to it that says this knife is primarily a tool and less likely to make people nervous.
I will be passing this Tops knife down to one of my boys as it is built to last many generations. It is heirloom quality!
