Has the desired on-off switch so it would not be on all day.
Works as expected, has the key features i needed, a fair price, and arrived promptly. Because it is in a bathroom with no windows, even in the middle of the day there is not enough natural light for the photoelectric feature to keep the light off. This item has the desired on/off switch for the daytime.

Ideal way to avoid forgetting to turn off a lamp or other electric item.
I am using it for a lamp I had been habitually leaving on after leaving the room. The remote control resolves the problem perfectly because I set it for 30 minutes at a time. Of course I can either reset it if the timer turns the lamp off while I am still using, or I can turn it off manually rather than having to wait for the 30 minutes to expire.
Installation is exceedingly simple: plug the unit into any electrical outlet (does NOT have to be a wall outlet--I'm using a power strip), pull out the plastic that is blocking the battery connection in the remote, and you're all set.
