Netgear EX 7000 Extender Worked Where Others Did Not!
I have several repeaters I have used for various purposes, extend the Ethernet port to TV,
some for travel to hit a guest hot spot etc. For my security system I needed to hit a router at a distance through a few walls. The Netgear EX7000 extended the signal remarkably better than
all the others I had tried before. Achieving download speeds greater than 50 Mbs, almost equal to the source router. I was so impressed I purchased a second one as a backup.
Having used DD-WRT in the past to repurpose a router as a repeater, I now prefer to use the
Netgear interface. It is simple, scans the available networks, and most importantly allows for a different SSID and password at the extended SSID output, which the TP Link does not.
After you set it up, you then do the firmware update.
