Anxious to finish the book
I just started reading it. I had read a mini bio of her life and learned she had written this book. I am anxious to read about all of the different and varied aspects of her life. She sounded like an exceptional woman.

Great biography of Martha Ballard, midwife/healer of 18th century rural Maine
The information contained within was used in the fictional history novel of "The Frozen River" which I had read a month ago. The life of Martha Ballard was incorporated into the fictional history novel and I wanted to read a biography of her life because it was an opportunity to see what life in rural Maine was like for a healer/midwife in the later part of the 18th century .
