WORKS WELL AND AN ACCEPTABLE REPLACEMENT FOR THE ORIGINAL
Installed this unit on a side-by-side KitchenAid refrigerator.
This product is an inexpensive knock off of the original.
The wiring is of lighter gage and the plastic cavity that accepts the incoming water supply is very thin. This is important because you have to cut the plastic to provide a place for the water inlet channel to rest in. Extreme care is required when doing this because the thin plastic can crack and the unit is NG for use.
Use the original wiring harness (thicker wire gage) instead of what comes with the unit.
The unit was poorly packaged and the plastic end cap was cracked and so I used the original. This unit was provided by McCombs supply although I ordered from this vendor. McCombs offers the same unit for a lower price I believe - something to check.
When all is said and done the unit has been working fine since purchase about 3 weeks ago.
The install was very easy except for the cutting of the plastic as notes
