Excellent fit and finish, but better than its looks is its performance; Rock solid clamping force, smooth motion of jaw and solidly built. I am using it on a 4"x5" vertical milling table on my South Bend 9" lathe, and while it is a little bit heavy for this application, it holds the work solidly. It is an excellent value for the money.

Built to last

Would rather have had a newer version (GP32), but this GP30 will suit my needs. Display was in good condition, and all areas are readable.

Shars makes good tools

Just received this item, so it has limited use, but from all appearances, it is well made and should provide a lifetime of service. My only question is whether the locking mechanism for the extension rods will hold up over time. Not having a solid mechanical locking device may allow movement over time. However, this design is used by many, so this may be an unnecessary concern.
