Best in Socket? I feel so!
2 of 2 found this helpful I upgraded a dell xps because the stock board is horribad. Welp, this motherboard is amazing. Considering there's maybe 4 choices out there I could find, this was the one I went with due to bad reviews on the others. I paid a good sum, but am not at all displeased. I'd give this board 10 eggs if I could, the performance scores are so much better with this board over the stock mb. I saw boards from other manufacturers, and either the chipset wasn't as good, or the reviews were bad. This one seems to be the go to for the 1155 chipset. The LED Error indicator is a neat function, but I've yet to ever need it. Once I installed and hooked everything up, no problem from the start. I didn't even need to enter bios to change anything to get started. However, after reinstalling windows on my HDD due to this hardware change, I did tweak some of the settings. This brings me to...
The only 'con' I found, wasn't really a con, just personal preference. The bios window is strangely arranged. It almost feels like it was set up with touchscreen applications set in mind. I guess I'm used to a standard feel and look to bios, and was just a bit confused by this set up. I've had asrocks in the past, and don't remember this being their goto. Perhaps, I'm nitpicking, but like I said, this isn't a con, I just found it a bit outlandish and confusing. Once you find what your looking for, everything else seems to be in standard format, it's just the main layout I suppose that's odd.
Over all this is a solid motherboard and the features are great. The Z77 on this thing makes it a must for gaming. Don't waste your money on anything else. If you have a socket 1155 cpu, and need a new motherboard, or the best motherboard. Snag this one up. As far as quality goes, it's a large cut above the rest.
