I always go Sovtek or similar over Chinese tubes whenver possible.

I always buy Russian tubes over Chinese. Although the Sovtek sourced tubes are NOS of varying vintages (usually 2000-2005) Ive found them to be of much better quality and longer lasting for daily service vs. Chinese tubes... which are just ok for light use IMO. Older US-made tubes from the 50's & 60's & 70's are fine for radio/gear restoration, but not ideal for daily/continuous duty in modern studio equipment. Plus, you're paying almost the same or higher price for a 50 year old product of unknown condition.
