Accept no substitutes.
1 of 1 found this helpful It's too bad that Sears dropped the Craftsman line. Trying to find replacements for broken tools is like pulling teeth. You either have to spend hours at Lowe's with slack-jawed idiots trying to get your point across using hand-puppets, or you can try to call the Craftsman toll-free number and hope the half-wit at the other end speaks English.
I decided it was much easier to fix the thing myself. This kit is very easy to install, even though it didn't include the special tool specified in the instructions. It is possible to install this kit without it. It is an authentic Craftsman product and pretty much the only thing that will do the job.
A few minutes work and my ratchet works like new again. Best of all, I didn't have to waste time explaining simple concepts like a lifetime tool warranty to some genetically-deficient millenial moron taking up space in the local Lowe's tool department.
