Harkens back to the 1940 cliffhangers !
The Paula stories could really do with a more decent budget, but as a small time production it's pretty good and the team have done the best with what they had.
She's your stereotypical snooping dame with a nose for constantly getting into trouble, but she's brave and resourceful enough to scrape through her perilous life righting wrongs as best as a crusading journalist with a mighty pen can do !
Yes, she IS a guilty pleasure, somewhat. Wearing a snug turtleneck, miniskirt and knee high boots ensemble and getting bound and gagged more times than a dozen '40s cliffhanger movie and comicbook heroines. She's a real fighter, however and it's rare for her to need an ally to rescue her from assorted villains bent on either her demise or just keeping a snoopy reporter under wraps while they get away with whatever nefarious scheme they're up.
I'm looking forward to upcoming adventures :)
