when this unassuming book fell off the shelf into my hands, i had no idea what a brilliant gem i had found. at a time when we need to hear stories from off-center perspectives, when we need to truly listen, we meet a child who is navigating a dangerous life where people's passions and beliefs lead to both awful and beautiful conclusions. the author uses plain simple words to convey enormity and her characters speak to us so truthfully. i rationed this beautiful read to make it last as long as possible.

Our children are the best thing we ever do. Toni Morrison's son, Slade, wrote a story about personal freedom when he was just nine years old. His mother added rhythm and found the perfect illustrator for this fresh tale: Giselle Potter. Also the book design itself complements as it imitates the shape of a big box.

1 of 1 found this helpful i needed this heating pad for my tortoise. it is difficult now to find heating pads without the safety turn-off feature and i was overjoyed to find this stay-on sunbeam pad. gretel turns into a block of ice overnight if she doesn't have a heat source.
