Competent & compact little drive. Love it!
Fine little drive-I also own it's larger (capacity, not size)16GB sibling. These aren't terrifically fast, but they're trouble-free and the design is elegant and it feels like a solid chunk of aluminum. There's no need of sliding or removable bits that will break or end up lost, either. It's also very compact, smaller even than the USB ports it fits in-you'd be hard put to find a better day-to-day solution for storage and transfer of files. And it's hard to go wrong with Kingston products. Recommended!

Competent replacement for stock Intel cooler
Firstly, Newegg is a great dealer, never a bad experience in 14 years of dealing with them. OK..I needed a more effective unit than the original-it's working fine but the processor needed a better solution for what I have planned for it. This Rosewill model suited my needs (nearly) perfectly. There's the standard pushpin mounts, love 'em or hate 'em..in my case, I didn't want to yank the mainboard and deal with back plates, insulators and screws, so this unit was ideal in that regard. It went in fine with minimal fuss. The unit runs a bit faster than stock, there's less core and more cooling fins, so the processor is running cooler than stock (about 38 degrees at idle, as opposed to 44). And the shrouded fan keeps stray wires from contacting the blades, which can be a problem with the stock unit. It's a four-wire unit, so there's no question about it being recognized and controlled properly by your mainboard. My only complaint is that when the Intel pulse-type (sorry, not certain about the exact name of the technology) fan control kicks in, the fan will get a bit noisy, but not unpleasantly so. At the lowest speed, it's at the same RPM as the Intel unit, about 1600 rpm-you may find it's quieter with your board's fan control (Mine is the Supermicro X7SBE, Intel 3210 NB). I still rate it as 'quiet', because it's silent at idle, and I suspect that my particular fan controller is the reason it isn't always so. So, if it were just a bit quieter at speed I would have given it five stars, but I'd still recommend it and would buy it again.
