April Wine ROCKS, but this book putters...
I will always have TREMENDOUS respect for Myles and April Wine as musicians, but he did not "go there" in this retelling, and he absolutely had the awesome experiences to make this a compelling read if he cared to flesh them out, he didn't... While I liked the front end of the book, I expected a better tale about the band and its times.

What has been said in reviews of this book ...isn't what you get.
After getting a copy, I was somewhat dissapointed in the buzz surrounding this book, as it was claimed to be more than it is, and was compared to be an instructional survival book similar to the "Foxfire" series of books, but it really doesn't explain anything about all that goes into providently supporting these recipes, i.e.: materials foraging, safety concerns, techniques for storage, etc.... its just a naturalists recipe book. That said, it is a more than decent recipe book as far as good cookbooks go - so I do not blame the author for this shortcoming, as his intent and focus was clear upon reading the book, and IMHO that goal of "a good recipe book" is well represented. I DO blame the reviewers who claimed this book was "MORE than a recipe book", and "takes you from A-Z in wilderness survival food preparation", as it most certainly fails in those regards.

4 Excellent books for the price of 1
I have been an ebay shopper for quite some time, and this was the best collection of books I have EVER purchased - great info from great authors in a package of new products that arrived almost immediately and in steller condition - this is a MUST have book series for any prepper or survivalist.
