Does what it says but multi-thread adapter is a potential weakness
The product is sturdily constructed and certainly holds a flashgun securely as claimed. The screw thread, however, Comes with an adapter to allow it to fit two thread sizes. For some this might be an advantage. This adapter is, however, a very small part and once removed it is easy to loose. If used, it is prone to remain on the tripod plate when taking the unit off the tripod, it then has to be unscrewed seperately and screwed back into the unit for storage, making that procedure more awkward than removal of a mount with a fixed thread size

Found effective spring protection, though heavy rain can reduce effectiveness, pity about the plastic
I have found it works effectively in our garden (on a clay soil) provided the barrier remains complete. Heavy rain can reduce its effectiveness by compacting the product. It has been very useful around bulbs, as the residual product, whilst rotting down, marks their location once they have died back so I can see where not to plant my summer bedding. This has now become a regular purchase, so only missed out on five stars because of the amount of plastic in the packaging (especially for the large tubs).

Replacement for a pair we lost
Our previous pair of these has served well ever since we had them. The hand grip is comfortably shaped. The blade shape makes them better than convential scissors for all sorts of small kitchen and garden tasks, the notch being particularly useful for cutting thinner stems.
