Sharp and the correct angle.
This reamer is plenty sharp and the correct angle for violin pegs. You only need to use moderate pressure to enlarge the hole. I have an inexpensive violin with one peg that, though functional, was not seated deep enough so it looked poorly finished. I removed the peg, turned the reamer three times, pushing gently, replaced the peg to see who much material I had removed, then repeated that process a few times until the peg was exactly where it needed to be to look good. This cutting and checking and cutting and checking process only took about 5 minutes to get a nice finished looking functional peg. It comes with a clear plastic sleeve. Hang on to that. You'll want to slip it back on to preserve the edge should you need to use it again.

Amazing and entertaining
1 of 1 found this helpful This History of Jazz is a marvelous resource, detailed and entertaining enough to watch repeatedly. If you use CC during playback each of the marvelous tunes is identified by name. Definitely worth viewing.
