Square Enix at it's best!
As a dedicated gamer who has always enjoyed Square Enix’s titles ranging from Final Fantasy to the Valkyrie Profile series, I was stoked when I found out that the game Valkyrie Profile was ported to the Playstation Portable (or P.S.P. for short). The ported version of the game is simply titled Valkyrie Profile Lenneth Edition which was released in 2006. The game holds true to the original version except for the addition of C.G.I. cut scenes, which to many including myself was a fantastic addition to the already superb game. The game is heavily inspired by Norse Mythology and takes place in Midgard while the player controls the titular Valkyrie named Lenneth as she is tasked with gathering the souls of the recently slain and training them to either become Einherjar, or her own personal companions for Ragnarok while Lenneth tries to remember her own memories from when she was human, which was stripped away when she became a Valkyrie. Furthermore the choices and actions you make can take away time and can result in both positive or negative consequences depending on your choices as well as help the player further progress through the fantastically engaging but complicated storyline. If you or anyone else enjoys RPG’s (role playing games) or more specifically JRPG’s (Japanese Role Playing Games) such as Valkyrie Profile and enjoys a good story driven game, then this is a must have for any RPG fan or collector.
